What is Schema.org or Schema Markup?

It started in 2011 when Search Engine giants such as Bing, Google, and Yahoo collaborated to create and support a set of data structure schemes on web pages known as Schema.org or Schema Markup.

Schema Markup is a code that you can put into the Website to help Search Engines to provide informative results for their users. Schema Markup uses Microdata, RDFa or JSON-LD format to mark content on the Blog with metadata.

What types are supported by Schema.org?

Schema Markup uses a lot of Vocabulary including old formats like Microformat, FOAF, GoodRelation, and OpemCyc. You can view Microformat in Google Webmaster Tool.

What types of Snippets and Graphs can I see in search results?

  1. Snippet: The text of the description seen below the website/content link.
  2. Rich Snippet: It is necessary to make a website or blog page structured. If Googlebot can understand the content on a web page. Then Googlebot will display Rich Snippet in the search results.
  3. Knowledge Graph: Same as Rich Snippet. If Google understands what is the content of a web page, then Google will display an information box on the right side of Search Engines on the condition that the Website /blog must be instructed.
